Yesterday, the Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) took flight from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida! As one of the newest spacecraft tasked with observing the Sun, specifically the solar wind (a stream of charged particles), I’m excited to see what its machinery can reveal about how the solar phenomenon interacts with Earth’s magnetosphere and atmosphere. Have a safe journey, IMAP!
